A “released” or “not in custody” result does not, by itself, show dismissal, sentence completion, or freedom from another agency. It means the reporting county jail sent a status or custody-change event. Obtain the jail entry and court order when the exact time and legal basis matter.
Do not relabel an event date as a physical departure time unless the source says that is what it records. Notification transmission, staff entry, and actual exit can be separate moments. A formal request can ask the jail to define the field and supply the booking number that ties it to the correct stay.

Kansas VINE Excludes Three Systems
Kansas VINE's scope boundary is unusually important in Clark County because Meade presents VINE as its online inmate-search route. The Kansas Attorney General's VINE information describes participating adult county-jail coverage. It expressly excludes Kansas Department of Corrections prison offenders, juveniles, and federal detainees.
This is more than a technical limit. A person can vanish from the Meade VINE result because the county-jail phase ended with a transfer. The next correct step depends on the receiving agency. Repeating the same VINE search cannot confirm a state-prison admission, juvenile placement, federal pretrial hold, or immigration detention.
Interpret Clark County VINE Releases
Ask the reporting jail what type of event produced the alert. Bond means release from detention while the criminal case can continue. A court-ordered release needs the signed order for its scope. Time served may end the jail portion while supervision or another case remains. A transfer ends custody at that jail but does not put the person in the community.

A KBI registry record is another separate system. It applies only when a legal registration duty exists and does not serve as a general release locator. Match the question to the agency with actual custody or supervision authority.
Resolve Missing Clark VINE Results
A negative result has limited meaning. The name may be misspelled, hyphenated, entered under an alias, or tied to a different ID. The person may be at a nonparticipating location, transferred out of county-jail scope, or affected by reporting delay. Record the exact spelling, search date, and selected state before trying another route.
